10 Character Password Generator
Generate random 10-character passwords instantly. Cryptographically secure, browser-based, and completely private.
Security note: 10 characters is a reasonable middle ground for everyday accounts, but for banking, email, or work systems, we recommend 12 characters or more.
Generated using crypto.getRandomValues() — never stored or transmitted.
Is a 10-character password good enough?
A 10-character password using all four character types has roughly 65 bits of entropy — noticeably stronger than 8 characters, and enough to resist most casual brute-force attempts. It sits in a practical middle ground: harder to crack than shorter passwords, while still short enough to type manually if needed.
10 characters works well for everyday accounts — streaming services, shopping sites, forums — where the consequences of a breach are inconvenient but not severe. It's not the strongest option available, but it's a significant step up from the 6–8 character passwords many people still use by default.
For higher-stakes accounts, size up to our 12-character generator or 16-character generator. Curious about the tradeoffs between length and character variety? Read our password length vs. complexity guide.
